Inspiration:
This giclée print from an original transparent watercolor was inspired by a photograph of a vintage and very rusty bicycle. It was a fun challenge to try to paint the various rusty colors and textures. I used my imagination and included nasturtium flowers growing in my garden to enhance the rusty red orange against the complimentary blue green colors in the background. I splashed in some lavender watercolor to add to the rusty effect in the bicycle frame. My husband named the painting “Retired Ride” as he was about to have a hip replacement!
