Inspiration:
This giclée print from an original transparent watercolor was inspired by Swallowtail Butterflies visiting Zinnia flowers growing in my garden. Painting for pollinators. I used layers of glazed yellow, red and blue to try to get a rich, dark background for the bright red and orange Zinnias to pop. I left the watercolor paper unpainted for the pale yellow background of the butterfly.
